Questions answered

Our programmes are not just about coming and having a fun day with a horse, they develop skills that can have a lasting effect at home, in school and for the future. This really does work! - here are some of the most common questions answered .....

Student confidence in their own ability grows quickly

Where do you run your programmes from?

Our programmes run from approved Bristish Horse Society or Association of British Riding Schools Equestrian Centres around the country. We aim to offer a venue within 30 minutes of your location.

Do the students need to know anything about horses?

No. It is not necessary for the students to have any prior knowledge of horses - indeed some students really don't like them when they begin! We coach the students at their own pace, enabling them to learn by doing - not being taught all of the time.

Do we need any special equipment?

All equipment can be provided as part of the programme. Boots and riding hats need to be worn when working around the horses.

How come the programmes work so well?

During the interaction with the horse, the student is constantly reminded of the comparisons between their relationship with the horse and their relationships with others. They are able to experience first hand the impact that their behaviour can have on the behaviour and response of the horse. If they want to obtain a positive outcome, they have to adapt their actions to achieve this. In continually relating the learning outcomes back into everyday life, the students are soon able to develop new strategies for dealing with situations away from the programme.
